June 2008 issue of Atlantic Monthly – I am passionate about public policy and supporting those in public service who are committed to supporting the greater good. During the 2006 election cycle, I joined some friends and became a fundraising leader in the SF Bay Area as co-founder of “Win Back the House”. Click here to see the article .

See a video of me talking about my recent stuff – and my opinions about navigating business & life’s opportunities. Thank you to FWE&E for giving me the honor of a highlight on their home page recently.

Jobs, Jobs and More Jobs

The core theme of my activities is to create jobs.  When there are good jobs, people are happy, feel good, make money, obey the law and society prospers.  My grandparents were immigrants to the U.S. early in the 20th Century, and my parents were brought up during the Great Depression and experienced the New Deal – the creation of jobs to jumpstart the economy – firsthand.  I guess I still have some of that in me.

During my corporate finance career, my teams provided financial services support to high growth tech companies; as head of recruiting with two enterprise software companies, we created jobs for 1000’s of professionals worldwide; and in my political / community involvement, I strive to help ambitious people at all levels to engage the employment they seek – to become contributors to our society and build self-esteem.  I especially want to help those who do not have the resources or mentorship many of us in the professional world have been privileged to access.

First Up:

An exciting Project (still in stealth), will be hosted by a national TV network (a 13-program series), where leading entrepreneurs, political leaders, and industry leaders will talk to students about the potential areas for job growth in the United States.  The focus is on explaining to high school and community college students -- particularly from underprivileged backgrounds -- what opportunities will exist in the US for the jobs of the future.  We’ll help them: #1 raise awareness and #2 seek the training they’ll need for these roles.  The Project will also partner with leading companies to provide fellowships to these students so they can work as summer interns in High Tech and Clean Tech.  Details TBD.  Please let me know if you’re interested in a TV Program sponsorship or Corporate Fellowship.

Hopefully, many more to follow!
